(Who is Don? Don – MBA and International Communications Manager seeking Manager of Corporate Communications role)
Terry: Thank you. Why did you leave your last job?
Don: Unfortunately, the company went through tremendous downsizing and I was located at one of the satellite offices. The company is moving about 85% of its entire operations to China, including management and central core duties, which included communications.
So, working in one of the satellite offices I was part of a large round of rips where they did let go the entire marketing department — which I reported into — in February.
Terry: All right.
Don: One caveat I would like to say is that they did bring me back two days after being let go as a contractor, because they realized, you know, that so many functions could not come to a complete stop. I was actually let go in January, but February 22nd was the last day I was there to fulfill the contract.
Here’s how I would rate this answer . . .
Q2. Why did you leave your last job? – DON QUICK RATING – B
Good job of setting context, could refine the “bringing back” in even more positive terms, don’t need to share the contract date specifics.
